My Review:

Welcome to the Wild West at its finest!

This story is bittersweet. It’s also revealing and heartening. Bittner captivates her audience with both the best and the worst of human nature. Her vivid yet realistic descriptions place the reader right in the middle of the action. You don’t just visualise this story, you live it. I found myself transported back in time, living vicariously through the pages of this novel.

The characters in this tale were completely breathtaking. They were so real that it made it easy to fathom the experiences that they lived. I also appreciated the fact that they rose above what they lived through. That said, although their histories were definitely harsh and daunting, they weren’t completely out of the realm of possible. In fact, they are still things that occur too often today. Bittner allows the characters’ emotions to shine through the pages of this novel, thus giving her readers an opportunity to connect with them. I found myself drawn in to their lives and definitely didn’t want to let them go at the end.

Overall, I was completely enthralled throughout. Bittner takes western historical romance to an entirely new level with this story. It may have been my first of her novels but it definitely won’t be my last.

My Review:

This novel is simply poetic. Wiggs has a way with words that will wow you. This novel was a heartfelt journey back in time that has a mythical, enchanting feel to it. The way that the author alludes to things rather than stating them outright makes it all the more magical. At the same time it is one of those stories where you can’t even begin to guess the ending. Each new twist and turn takes you further from the ending you would expect until you’re avidly swallowing each word on the page, racing towards the conclusion. Wiggs’ graphic descriptions make this story vividly real. She combines all of this together to create an exciting and enduring story.

Wiggs’s tale is backed up by some fantastic characters. Parts of this novel give you compassion for these characters as you couldn’t fathom living through what they did. Others make you envious because they experienced the things that dreams are made of.

This novel is a work of art. It is one of those novels that is perfect for any and all who enjoy historical romances.

My Review:

I absolutely love the way that this novel is written. North’s voice, tone, and style draw you completely in to the story. For a non-boarder like myself North approaches the topic perfectly. She gives me enough information that I can understand what’s going on, without it overshadowing the story at hand. It’s an exciting story that tackles life at its best and families at its worst.

The characters in this novel are perfectly priceless. Everyone is true to who they are, yet also understand how they are perceived by others. Getting to know them in this intimate and adventurous manner allows you to become part of their lives, and them part of yours. I appreciate how real they are, and how they’re dealing with real life issues, even if their lives seem perfect on the surface.

Overall, this was a brilliant novel that I couldn’t put down for a second. I’ll be rereading this (multiple times) in the future & would recommend it to others. This may have been my introduction to this author’s work, but I’ll definitely be looking for more in the future.

My Review:

Radcliffe paints her scenes in tones and hues. You feel like you’re looking at an oil painting. Everything pops with a vivid sense of reality that draws you to it. By writing in short, poignant sentences Radcliffe adds an extra sense of urgency to an already suspenseful tale. Not only is this a fantastically magical story, this novel is also an in-your-face social commentary that really makes you stop and think. I appreciate the fact that this novella is complementary to the Activation trilogy of the series, while also standing alone. I found myself getting excited over each and every new detail revealed.

I really enjoyed getting to know Daisy so much better in this instalment. Her past, and the convergence of everyone’s path leads to a great story. Radcliffe’s development of her characters in this novella is spot on. She gives you a peek into many histories while developing certain characters in the present. It combines into a heady mix that will make you feel part of this world. You also come away with a much more intense understanding of the Fates & how they work. It was quite enlightening.

As a whole this was a brilliant segue into the Silence trilogy. Radcliffe melds reality and imagination together in a manner so seamless that you’ll find yourself walking through the pages alongside her characters. I couldn’t put it down for a second.

My Review:

Radcliffe is a very visually descriptive author. The words that she pens become a vivid scene in your mind’s eye. Her writing is simultaneously eloquent and snarky. Radcliffe throws classic style out the window, telling her wildly creative story in her own way and keeping her readers completely captivated throughout. The way that she combines history with the present and a whole lot of her own imagination creates a riveting tale that you won’t be able to put down.

I love the sense of Daisy’s character that you get in this novella. By having Daisy tell her own story you not only get to see who she is today, but how she got to where she is. Getting up close and personal with Gavin was similarly revealing. I found myself really feeling a connection to these two. You also get an intriguing look at the dragons, getting to know them outside of the Activation series. The sneek peek at the Seraphim was also intriguingly cliffhanger-esque.

If I thought I was addicted to the world of Fate~Fire~Shifter~Dragon before reading this novella I was woefully wrong. Broken took it to an entirely new level. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

My Review:

Sharp draws you back into the magical world of Feyland from the very first sentence. Adventure & excitement abound in a fantasy world like no other. Sharp melds the human world with that of the Seeilie & Unseelie courts in a manner that allows you to see them coexisting naturally in our world. The implications of this make the story all the more exciting. Throw in the well plotted out adventures and quests that he characters find themselves on and you have one unforgettable tale. She also defines what needs defining without slowing down the fast forward pace of the story. Sharp allows her readers full immersion into this intricate world while taking them on the ride of a lifetime.

I feel like I really know each of the main characters in this novel intimately. I especially loved the growth that we see in Roy in this novel. He is still the spoiled rich kid that we`ve come to know and tolerate, but he`s really coming into his own now. You can see the personal growth that he`s undergone throughout the series, and now he`s becoming a much more rounded and grounded individual. He`s someone you can (almost) like now.

This was a beautifully put together novel that I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend to fantasy lovers of all ages. The world that Sharp presents to her readers is breathtakingly beautiful and extremely easy to fall in love with. I definitely couldn`t put this one down even for a second.

My Review:

This novel is intensely adventurous from the very first sentence. Action and adventure abound, keeping you completely immersed in the original storyline. The past and present collide in a thrillingly suspenseful manner. Intrigue abounds and allies are in short supply. You also get an in-depth look at various forms of magic in this novel. Edun demonstrates & narrates in a manner that keeps you captivated while still learning more about this remarkable world. This plays directly into the court intrigue & deception that will keep you on your toes. 

The personal growth in the main characters is remarkable in this novel. They’re really coming into their own. You can no longer see them as children or headstrong youth. They are becoming a force to be reckoned with. I appreciate the fact that Edun’s characters don’t grow stagnant. You continue to learn new tidbits about all of the major players in the story throughout.

This novel was well and eloquently written. It was captivating for readers of all ages. I definitely couldn’t put it down for a second, nor can I wait for the next instalment in the series.

My Review:

The romance in this novel is intricate and breathtaking, yet still tasteful. Carr leaves so much to the imagination while painting a vivid picture for you. You can easily picture the beauty of the coast. Although Carr definitely tells a riveting story that you won’t be able to forget, there is also a calming quality about it. You’re immersed in the slower, friendlier pace of life in Thunder Point. It was very refreshing. 

Carr approaches this novel in a very unique way. If you’re returning to the series, you feel like you’re being welcomed back. Everyone is as warm and inviting as they were on your last visit. Those who are just beginning to read it with this novel feel like the newcomer to a small town. You get introduced to the town and everyone in it in a very low-key manner, allowing you to absorb this coastal town.

I found it impossible not to imagine myself in the main character’s place. I couldn’t even fathom how I would handle it. I had to give her cudos for not only walking away, but for coming back strong afterwards. The male lead is completely flawed but absolutely perfect. He’s so genuine that you can’t help but fall for him. I also enjoyed how feeling came into play for these characters. Their relationship wasn’t all lust & whirlwinds. You really found out their hopes, dreams, and fears. They approached things with their heads & their hearts. It made for a very balanced story. I always find myself intrigued with Carr’s character names. They’re never mainstream, making you really stop to look at the character. At the same time, they aren’t so unique that you have a hard time remembering (or worse yet, pronouncing) them.

As a whole this was an absolutely breathtaking novel that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone, whether you’ve read Robyn Carr’s work before or not. In fact, I urge you to go buy a copy today. This is definitely one that I’ll be rereading multiple times.

My Review:

Andrijeski’s tone gave me chills and had me on edge throughout. It thoroughly complemented her storyline, drawing her readers further and further into the plot. I was captivated by her thrilling storyline, drawn in further with each word. Not only was the story captivating, but Andrijeski threw genre classification to the wind with this one. Part SciFi, part fantasy, part dystopian, all YA that will appeal to all ages. There are also differing religions and philosophies that work their way into the mix. There is something for almost everyone here. This is one of those novels that you can’t put down, and if you have to, you can’t stop thinking about it.

I loved getting to know these characters. The slightly off-centre viewpoint that I developed of them made them all the more endearing. The main character’s plight, finding out that she was something other than what she’d imagined, was quite touching. At the same time, her persona was one that kept me captivated. The supporting cast rounds out the story nicely. I appreciated the mix of modernity & futuristic qualities that they displayed. One could relate to them while they still stand out.

This is a phenomenally well written novel that kept me captivated throughout. Andrijeski’s tone draws you in and sets you up to thoroughly enjoy this compilation. It’s a brilliant read for all those who enjoy a SciFi/fantasy world.

My Review:

What a trip! My heart was literally in my throat for parts of this novel. I couldn’t even fathom living through this, but Daniels drew me right into the mix. I couldn’t put it down. Even after I finished the novel, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. She engaged me mentally & emotionally. This story was so vividly real that I could picture each and every moment of it. Daniels’ story is completely unique, yet still contains the elements that we’ve come to love from her work. Suspense, intrigue, and romance abound throughout. I found myself dying to know what would happen next, needing to know how the story ended.

As soon as I saw that Jackson was the main character in this novel I knew that it would not only be unforgettable, but completely unique. The characters in this tale really brought it to life. And their individual plights come together in a shocking light that brings the entire story together. Their broken marriages give them a sense of vulnerability. Their closeness with their respective families brought the entire story together. They both bring the main characters together and set them apart. I found myself drawn to the entire cast.

As a whole this was a fantastic novel. It could easily be read as a standalone, as part of the Cardwell Cousins series, or as part of the extended Cardwell series. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any fans of (or even those with a lukewarm interest in) romantic suspense.

My Review:

Daniels is a master at balancing suspense with romance to create an unforgettable tale. Both of the novels included in this set had me on the edge of my seat. Daniel’s mastery of the English language along with her phenomenal storytelling will keep you riveted throughout. She draws you in right from the very beginning, painting a picture for you. The beauty of Montana shines through in Rescue at Cardwell Ranch. In Wanted Woman the subject matter really packs a punch.

The characters in Rescue at Cardwell Ranch draw you right into the thick of things. They easily carry the story forward on their own. They are intricately developed individuals that you really get to know. The supporting cast is also brilliantly backs them up, lending credence to both their plight & the story as a whole. The cast of Wanted Woman is similarly well developed. It was a shocking contrast switching over to them, but Daniels presents them in a manner that has you falling in love with them as well. There was also quite the contrast between the characters themselves. Watching them come together was priceless.

Not only are these two phenomenal novels separately, but they are also one heck of a team together. Rarely have I seen such well-matched yet quite different novels paired together in a single publication. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

My Review:

Leigh’s writing style held me completely captivated throughout. It was completely unique yet down to earth, and so well-crafted that I couldn’t turn away. The history, of weaponry, lives, and places, captured my imagination and kept me riveted. I appreciated the realism and research behind this work. The mix of old world and new adds an extra element to the tale that allows the reader to feel a connection to the work.

The complex characters that Leigh presents to her readers are breathtaking. I was completely enchanted by them and felt like I really knew them. Through her characters Leigh makes the notion of reincarnation astoundingly palatable and easy to believe. There is a sense of wonder accompanying it throughout.

As a whole this was a wonderfully unique read that I would recommend to all lovers of romance, and of Shakespeare.

My Review:

The descriptions and tone of this novel are so vivid that you not only picture it all, but feel like you’re right there. The combination of police undercover work with familial obligations creates a breathtaking and solidly captivating novel that you won’t be able to put down. Religion, duty, and self-worth all make an appearance throughout. The authors meld suspense with mayhem while showing how romance can crop up at any time. They tell a tale that I found myself fully invested in. I always needed to know what would happen next and how it would end, but I never actually wanted the tale to end.

The multifaceted character development throughout allows readers to really get to know the characters. These authors make sure you are introduced to them both inside and outside of their work place. Seeing the fine line that the main characters walk, morally, religiously, and ethically, draws you closer to them. I found myself rooting for them, and at the same time, wanting to get to know them better. The antagonists in this novel really highlight both the plight of the main characters as well as commenting on the current state of society, the tings many of us try to ignore.

I’m normally not a fan of multi-author works, but these two work together so seamlessly that you can’t help but get caught up in the breathlessness of it all. This novel is definitely a must read for those who enjoy the genre.

My Review: 

This novel is priceless! Neeley had me in fits of laughter from the first chapter. Her tone is light & approachable but inviting and melds perfectly with the story at hands, as well as the ones that precede it. She also takes the suspense in the series to a whole new level. I was on the edge of my seat throughout, trying to guess what would happen next. She also weaves a remarkable story of love and loss together throughout this tale. By weaving these relationships alongside up and coming business practices she creates a completely unique tale that you cannot help but live alongside the characters.

Neeley takes the characters that we’ve come to know previously in the series and takes them to a whole new level. The main characters come to life like no others. I love how she develops them individually, and they continue to be individuals once they’re together. Even though they are a couple, Neeley never portrays them as ‘that couple’ who are no longer individuals. It adds an extra element of approachability & realism to the novel. The supporting cast rounds out this novel very nicely. Everyone is so real, and this family is one that you can definitely come home to.

Overall? I’m so to see this series end. I have fallen so in love with Emerald Springs & the 5 authors that brought it to us that I don’t want to let go. Neeley definitely gave us the perfect ending to this series. This is a novel well worth reading.

My Review:

The writing in this novel is exhilarating. Rothert takes off skating, and you spend the entire novel out of breath. I read it in little more than a single sitting. The story itself is wildly imaginative and fiercely loveable. It is seamlessly put together, and presented in a manner that you can’t help but visualise. The hockey behind the novel is also solid. It was a complete rush. This is an emotionally profound novel. Rothert tells an incredibly racy love story while also tackling some very tough issues. Rothert definitely had me in tears more than once, and laughing out loud a great deal. There were also some moments that cause me to swoon.

Before I even start talking about the characters I should probably mention that I was hooked on the male lead when he was just a minor character in the first novel of the series. Now that he’s fully developed to lead the story, he’s absolutely unforgettable. He is beyond swoon-worthy. The female lead is definitely very unique as well. She is fighting to reconcile so many aspects of life that it amazes me that she’s still standing on her own two feet. Together, these two are unforgettable. Combine this with the strong secondary characters that Rothert brings forward and you have the perfect cast.

Overall, this was a fantastic novel. If I weren’t hooked on the series before I would be now. My final thoughts? Bring on the next please!

My Review:

This was a brilliantly heart-warming novel. Flockton had me captivated with her intriguing storyline and wonderful scenery. Not only did I enjoy revisiting Emerald Springs, but I feel like I’ve been to Australia. Flockton`s well laid out plot draws you in, both to the romance at hand and to the story of Emerald Springs in general. The suspense in the series is really starting to ramp up with this instalment. Tensions run high and emotions get away from you. It all combines into a read that you won`t be able to put down (I devoured it in a couple of hours).

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Daniel much better in this instalment. He went from being the ‘brooding brother’ from the rest of the series to a very enjoyable character in his own right. I couldn’t help but feel for and understand him. And the female lead that he was paired with was the perfect counterpoint. The contrast and similarities between these two well-developed characters really draws you in to their world and their lives. I also enjoyed seeing their interactions with the rest of their families. As a supporting cast they rounded out this lifelike novel very well.

Overall, this is a must read novel for those who enjoy romance. I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend it, or this new to me author, to anyone.

My Review:

Dirty Deeds is a sinfully decadent read. This novella was hot & suspenseful while at the same time remaining fun & enjoyable. Jakes has a well written, approachable style that makes it easy for her readers to lose themselves in the pages of the story. She brings forward aspects of life that one rarely thinks of and wraps them up in an intensely gratifying suspense that will keep you on your toes. Jakes balances heat & power with vulnerability to create the perfect thrill.

I love how you get to know the main characters in the present with just hints at their path. They are both well developed with an air of mystery to them. I felt a connection with the main character right from the beginning of the story. His intensity increases the intensity of the story as a whole. Also, the fact that she places two alpha males together ramps up the storyline. They must balance who they are with each other alongside who they are by themselves.

It was a quick read that I couldn’t put down. One small word of warning, however. Jakes leaves us with a definite cliff-hanger (and one large book hangover) at the end of this one. So, as much as I’d qualify this as a must read, if you’re not a fan of cliff-hangers, I’d suggest waiting for the rest of the series to be released.

My Review:

Parker tells a tail that is light and entertaining with a good dose of ‘what will happen next.’ She draws you in with a believable yet unimaginable tale wrapped up in a solid yet inviting package. Her insightful yet fluid descriptions paint a vivid picture of the story, while adding to the action and forward pace.

The characters in this novel were quite the intriguing pair. Individually, they were your average man & woman. Sure they had some intriguing issues, but nothing to make them unreachable or unattainable. Together, however, they make quite the explosive pair. Getting to know them as they get to know each other gives you an intimate look at the ins and outs of their lives. The supporting cast is also perfect for the story. They give you further insight into the main characters, while also adding to the story.

This was a great introduction to Parker’s work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others, or to pick up another one of her novels.

My Review:

What a vividly real story. Macomber develops this world with a downplayed vigour that draws you right into the heart of Cedar Cove. I also appreciate the fact that although this town is very well developed throughout this first novel of the series, Macomber doesn`t reveal all of its secrets, leaving more to be explored in future instalments of the series. Through this town she tells a brilliantly crafted tale that will go straight to your heart. Macomber evokes your imagination and your emotions throughout. By the end you are left with a sense of completion & happiness while still needing to return to the town of Cedar cove for yet another adventure, making this the perfect introduction to a series that stands out in the crowd.

Getting to know the characters in this town is priceless. Although there is a `main couple` who`s story we live alongside them, readers also get to know many other individuals from the town. Macomber`s cast is as varied as the town itself. You can`t help but be drawn to a favourite character and to try to insert yourselves in the lives of those you`ve come to know so well. (Yes, I definitely found myself trying to give individuals advice more than once). Macomber doesn`t simply develop her characters, but also the town itself. I love how the town of Cedar Cove becomes a character in its own right. It comes alive under Macomber`s careful tutelage.

This is a well written and solidly put together novel that will worm it`s way into your heart. The town and characters are absolutely unforgettable. This is a must read for romance enthusiasts.

My review:

Thompson has a natural writing style that somehow adds to the intensity of the story. She doesn’t employ any gimmicks other than good, old-fashioned storytelling in a modern light. She lays out her scenes in a very vivid and visual manner, allowing her audience to immerse themselves in the beauty of the scenes while being caught up in the suspense of the story. Thompson masterfully keeps her audience on their toes, taking them on twists and turns that you’d never imagine while keeping them fully and completely engaged in her exquisite story. And at the same time, steamy romance melds its way into the mix.

Thompson’s characters are off the hook as well. Although they are caught up in off the charts events they are also human. Family and humanity reign in this novel, while each character still remains true to themselves. Somehow Thompson shows how her characters are able to go above and beyond without ever betraying what makes them intrinsically themselves. Now, that isn’t to say that all of her characters are stellar citizens. There is also a very strong representation of the darker side of life. These characters are developed in such a manner that they send chills down your spine. I’ll never be able to look at a man with a red tie the same way again.

Overall, this was a fast paced and suspenseful novel that kept me on my toes throughout. It was a brilliant introduction to Thompson’s writing that has definitely sparked me to read more of her work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this one to anyone.
