My Review:

This is one of those rare novels that really puts life into perspective for you. Rollins takes her readers into the lives of 10 fantastic yet wildly different women married to men in the military. Each new story and leading character captured my heart and attention in a different way. Her straightforward yet personal writing style allowed me to get up close and personal with these ladies in the short while that I got to know them. I found the individual tales to be quite captivating and thought provoking.

She gives readers lots of insight into the lives of the stay at home half of military couples, and the various ways that they deal with their situations. I loved the feeling that I was getting a true glimpse into the real lives of these individuals. I laughed and cried alongside them. The harsh realities of their lives combined with the unforgettable joys that they found in their relationships. The glimpses into their lives gives you a deeper understanding as to what they face and just how rewarding it can be.

This was a very genuine novel that was a pleasure to read. Rollins definitely has a way with words that allows you to step into this world and experience the lives of her leading ladies.

  2. I was in the US Navy and had a lot of respect for the Military Wives I met. I always called them the unsung heroes because they surely were. I believed and I still do that they should be receiving a paycheck right along with their husbands to keep the household from being eligible for assistance. At the time I was in, early 80's there were very few husbands staying home while women were in, I was the exception rather than the rule, I'd like to know things from their angle also. Maybe someone will take that idea and run with it.

  3. I have a lot of respect for our military families. My husband was in the Army Reserves. He was discharged about 1 1/2 years after we were married.

  5. Hi there! What a beautiful book. I have many in my family on both sides that are military. My Grandfather was in WWII and received a purple heart, my Dad was in Vietnam and I have many cousins that were in either the Gulf War or this current one. God Bless our soldiers and protect them!

  8. Hey guys!! I have always been interested in Military novels ever since I was young. In my country we don't have a lot of authors.Especially authors who write military or army novels. Military families and how they cope. How they deal with it. It is an eye opening topic that i rarely see in books. Probably because I can't find the right author/s.
