Synopsis from Goodreads:

Tired of living life out of a suitcase, traveling auto parts sales representative Jessie Knutson jumps at the chance for a position close to home. When a flat tire keeps her from an interview appointment and the hot tow truck driver awakens her inner cougar, she realizes too much time away has done a number on her libido. Now the only position she wants involves being naked and pressed tightly against a hot, younger man whose eyes say she's more than a roadside pickup.

BJ Spencer has no time for love with an auto parts store to run, though he yearns to find the right woman someday. So when the smoking hot redhead he rescues alongside| the road gives him a sexy smile, he remembers sometimes a man needs to enjoy the finer things in life. Long legs encased in thigh-highs are definitely fine, but Jessie seems to be total perfection in a tempting package. BJ just might be able to make both business and pleasure work for him this time.

My Review:

This story was simultaneously hot & sweet. I was hooked right from the get go. She combines an intriguing storyline with some very steamy scenes to deliver a story that you won’t be able to put down. Ring packs a great deal into a short page count without ever leaving her reader feeling rushed. It is a novella that reads like a novel. Ring’s very fluid and vividly real writing and scenes keep you captivated and enthralled. I also loved how she shows both the male and the female perspectives. It adds extra depth to the story and some humour as well.

Ring takes a unique approach to character development. You get to know her characters in and around their relationship quite well. Their past only makes its way into the story where it is relevant to the story itself. That said, the reader feels very connected to the characters. They are so real and there is more to them than simply sex. Another notable fact is the complete lack of secondary characters in the story. This does not affect the story at all. In fact, it directs all focus to the main characters and their entanglements.

Overall, this was a brilliant debut novella from an up and coming author. I love how she walks that fine line between romance and erotica to create a completely captivating tale. I can’t wait to see what she has yet to come.

  1. I will use a mechanic if I need to. I was raised knowing how to change a tire, change the oil & filter, check all fluids, check and change battery if needed. Basic auto maintenance. Thanks for a great giveaway!

  3. I love my mechanic... but he's 70 years old and about to retire. Here's hoping a hot young thing buys the business and takes over ;-) Fingers crossed!

  4. I have the best mechanics. Unfortunately they are so good they are not always at my beck and call. So I do know how to fix (or break) some things on my own.
    I enjoy/appreciate watching a mechanic work.

  5. If I could find a sexy female mechanic it would be a big yay, but since most of the ones I know are nothing like that...nay. :-(
