Synopsis from Goodreads:

When New York Private Equity partner Kataryna Taylor pursues the acquisition of a successful Italian biomedical company, she meets and falls in love with Luca Romano, a member of the existing shareholders. Kataryna and Luca engage in a sensual love affair, which includes erotic encounters neither one of them has experienced before with such intensity. But danger and a family drama wait around the corner for Kataryna and Luca when the CEO of the company to be acquired by Kataryna’s firm pursues her romantically and becomes infatuated with her.

While working on the important international acquisition transaction and deepening her relationship with Luca, Kataryna encounters love, obsession, danger and a stunning family secret, which she is determined to resolve.

An exciting, sophisticated erotic romance novel with a suspense plot and a family drama playing against the backdrop of beautiful international locales such as Milan, Lake Como, and Venice, Italy, New York, Berlin and other locations.

My Review:

This is definitely a book written by an adult for adults. Summars mixes romance with adult occupations and troubles to create a thought provoking, pulse accelerating work. Summars writes a story that is very detailed on a variety of different fronts. She is clear and concise, detailed without losing the reader in the details. There is a great deal of character and scene development throughout this novel. The novel’s brilliance is in the details and how they mesh together to create a packed whole.

This novel did have a bit of a slow start while we got to know the 2 main characters. That said, the main characters of this novel are well developed in both the past and the present. It’s much easier to identify with them knowing how and why they became the individuals that they are today. Summars creates a very detailed account of the intermingling of the lives of some very fully developed characters. Even the supporting cast fits into this. We may not learn quite as much about their pasts, but as a reader you get to know them as individuals who round out the lives of the main characters that you find yourself rooting for.

As a whole this was an intriguing novel that kept me on my toes throughout. It’s not a light, fluffy read, but rather one that brings reality to light in a unique way and really makes you think.

  5. I would read and review, posting the review to GR, Amazon, B&N, my book review blogs, and link with Twitter. Then, I'd place the book on my "place of honor" shelf with my other signed books where it would be cherished forever. I'd also be sure to let my friends know I'd won. (Not that I'd gloat or anything...)

  9. What would you like me to do? LOL 8) My kids say I do crazy things for books. I would leave a review when done of course, but would you like me to sing one for you here on Jonel's site as a Thank You. I would also sing Jonel's praises too as she is a great book blogger. But just a word of warning, I don't have a great voice, but I will try to make it rhyme ;)
