A Seal Forever & guest post from author Anne Elizabeth

Top 3 Favorite Quotes from A SEAL FOREVER with Anne Elizabeth

Declan is an active duty Navy SEAL who has seen his share of blood and battle. He’s the kind of man’s man who has a revolving door of beauties in and out of his life. That is…until he meets her, a woman who changes the meaning of the word ‘lady.’ Now, he’s hooked on her and has to learn how to keep her in his life. When a mission goes sideway, and turns his life on its ear, her love and understanding show him how to find his balance and happiness again.

This book was a very personal exploration. My husband is a disabled veteran and we have many friends who were wounded in battle or training. Facing a change in life and lifestyle can be taxing both mentally and physically. No two souls deal with the stress of change in the same way, and families as well as friends often become catalysts for support, encouragement, belief, and unwavering dedication. These are not easy paths, and I don’t take any tragedy lightly. Seeing the determination and courage in my husband and our friends inspires me to shout to the world—look at these amazing souls. I’m honored to love and cherish one of them, and to share their gift of belief with the world. Heroes…they are strong, sexy, and brave; and loving them is an extraordinary privilege.

Now, without further ado, here are my three favorite quotes from A SEAL FOREVER:

First Quote: “I love you” – These are three of the most powerful words in the world. Even when I’m writing a story they fill my heart with emotion. When my hero says it for the first time, I’m in my heroine’s head…and it reminds me of the first time my husband said it to me and I wept with joy.

Second Quote: “Declan knew the wives took on a similar commitment when they married a Team man—not an easy thing, because a SEAL wasn’t just a SEAL while he was active duty. That way of life and sense of responsibility and duty was forever. Once a SEAL, always a SEAL. Men were who they are…forever.” In reference to military husbands, this paragraph resonates with me and with a majority of the military wives I know. Our mates keep this core of dedication and determination, and though their status might change from active duty/operational to retired, the training and experiences are a permanent part of their psyches and bodies.

Third Quote: “…being the best meant pushing oneself every day and living up to the promise of success, courage, commitment, innovation, and achievement.” And…these incredible souls strive to push their own limits. This inspires me to do the same, to improve and to reach beyond what I know and understand to be true about myself.

My Review:

Elizabeth brings her characters and their world to life in a vivid manner. Her descriptions paint the world for readers while her solid writing brings the plot forward in an easy to follow manner. I did find the plot a little difficult to get into, but once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I almost felt as if there were a ‘before’ and ‘after’ section of the tale that fit together perfectly, but I found the latter much more entertaining.

The characters in this story were quite interesting to get to know. The hero left me giggling more than once while the heroine was quite easy to connect with. Although I enjoyed the characters and their story, the complete role reversal mid story threw me for a bit of a loop. It works perfectly with the plot and was intensely rewarding, but took me a minute to get into.

Although the 3rd novel in the series it read well as a standalone as well. This was my first novel by Anne Elizabeth, but it has sparked my interest and I’ll definitely be reading more in the future.

  2. I love the men in military romances. They are always so strong and capable that I'm drawn to them. Even though they are tough guys, they have a soft spot for the woman they love then they are completely different - gentle and tender.
