When the daughter of a Las Vegas politician disappears, private investigator and freshly turned werewolf Eric stumbles onto a frightening series of kidnapped girls. But he finds himself distracted from the case by the mysterious Ashley. Though she keeps changing her physical appearance, he recognizes her each time their paths cross—and soon their souls are intertwined.

Now they must work together to free the girls from the clutches of a serial killer, all the while dodging the sisterhood who wants them both dead. Can Eric and Ashley change their hearts as easily as they can their appearances to save something bigger than themselves?

My Review:

What an intriguing novel! This story runs the gamut from dark, to romance, to suspense, and back again, all without missing a beat. Overbrook’s polished writing allowed me to immerse myself in the story while the tone set the scene for the action. I loved how the plot of this story stood out as unique in the sea of paranormal stories, while still giving readers what I’ve come to love about the genre: an escape from reality.

I think it was the characters and their reactions that really drew me into this novel. Overbrook wrote their feelings in a complexly realistic manner, showing how conflicting they can be. The contrast between the wants, shoulds, and wills was quite apparent. To top it off, these were individuals that I truly liked. Their story was fun to get into.

Overbrook has definitely created something unique and captivating with this novel. It’s a great, quick read for those who enjoy paranormal romances.
