 My Review:

Picking up where we last saw Aoleon & Gilbert, LeVasseur takes off running, taking his readers on an unforgettable leg of this fantastic journey. He continues to develop the history, politics, and theology of Mars throughout, adding to what we’ve learned in previous stories. I love how he brought the pyramids on Mars into this story. It was something I’d previously heard about, and really heightened the story for me.

LeVasseur combines all the best of SciFi with the landscape of Mars in a fantastic manner. Aoleon’s technical speak, providing information for Gilbert and for readers, always makes me giggle. I also found it very intriguing and enlightening. She was a fantastic lead for this story. The technical aspect of everything, without making the story dense, was a bonus.

As usual, LeVasseur complements his fantastic story with unforgettable graphics. They take what would be a great plot and turn it into something fantastic. I found it especially helpful with the geography and species development. It is a tale that will be enjoyed by those of all ages, from grade school to grandparent.

This may be the perfect ending to the series, but I’m definitely sad to see Aoleon & Gilbert go. It is a series well worth delving into, but I will caution readers to read the series in order.
