My Review:

What an intriguing novel. Dold returns to her world of shifters in the bayou with a flair. Suspense runs rampant as the story takes off. This was also a very emotional story. Dold brought tears to my eyes more than once. She also made me laugh. I love the concept of the goddess. It’s more prominently developed here than in the previous novels. It really helps to explain what being a shifter means to these individuals. This novel can be read as a standalone, but the first two novels in the series do give a great deal of context. You can also really see the change in Dold’s writing since the beginning of the series. This novel is much smoother and more personal.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this main couple. Both were well developed individuals who can stand very well on their own. Seeing them come together and how they did so really lets you get to know them on a personal level. I liked seeing more of this world from the mate’s perspective. It really helped me understand the female characters better.

As a whole, this was a fantastic addition to Dold’s series. I’d definitely recommend it to those who enjoy a racy shifter romance.
