All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. Neither can resist the instant hunger than calms their torments... and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction -- and a soul-shattering test of love...
Though they carry an eternal curse, the Lords of the Underworld are irresistibly seductive -- and unimaginably powerful...

My Review:

I can’t stop thinking about this story and the characters in it. This is the kind of story that will stick with you always, and the type of love that you want for yourself for all time. Showalter created an absolutely stunning world that I could easily picture myself in. Her descriptions really allow you to picture the story. The storyline itself was fast paced and gripping. Showalter captured my imagination while making me think.

Showalter has filled this novel with absolutely unforgettable characters. She introduces you to the Lords, letting you get to know them as individuals and as a group. I love how they are portrayed as being human, yet at the same time, so much more than that. The interactions between the characters were so revealing, showing who they really are underneath the veneer. The main characters definitely stood out amongst the crowd. Maddox was the perfect mix of reality & desires. Ashlyn was strong yet in need of support. Together, they were explosive.

I definitely couldn’t put this one down. I simply devoured it. It was the perfect kick off to the Lords of the Underworld series & I definitely can’t wait to read more.
