But things are not often as they appear. Behind closed doors the loving Daniel that Morgan married is jealous and overprotective. Sometimes he’s even domineering.

Culmination
Morgan runs away – destroying everything in her path as she disappears. What made this good girl go bad?

My Review:

This is a well written and well thought out novel. Throughout this story the author covers a great deal of time in rapid succession, all the while chronicling it well and not leaving the reader feel rushed. Haggerty’s mastery of difficult subjects adds an extra punch to the story.

Although quite well developed, I did find the characters a bit difficult to identify with. Many of their actions and reactions seems counterintuitive and a bit off to me. It made them hard to get to know. As much as I know that these things happen all too regularly in real life, the fact that I find the notion of staying in this type of relationship completely inconceivable may have something to do with my inability to relate to the characters.

As a whole this was an enjoyable while sometimes controversial read. It’s not light and fluffy but I definitely appreciate having read it.
