My Review:

Heltsley writes with a personal, approachable writing style that’s very easy to follow. She uses it to weave a tale that is mystical and enchanting. Her straightforward and detailed descriptions make it impossible not to immerse yourself fully in this tale. Everything is laid out in exquisite & realistic detail for the reader to see. The research and imagination that went into this novel make it exceptional. I could barely put this one down. I found it to be unique and Heltsley kept me guessing throughout. I needed to know what was going to happen next and wanted to become part of this remarkable world.

I absolutely loved the cast of characters in this novel. Each was uniquely and individually developed to become the ideal individual for their lot. They also interacted with each other naturally, adding to the sense of family and community within the novel.

Overall, this was an exciting and fast paced novel that really drew me into this world. I’m definitely going to be following the rest of this series.
