Synopsis from Goodreads:

My Teachers are Zombies is the story of three fourth-grade friends who discover a terrible secret about how their teacher is a zombie. Their teacher assigns extra and unnecessary homework to make the students' brains bigger in order to eat those brains later on.

Taking a student's brain doesn't hurt the student, it just leaves them as a mindless person, to continue being 'taught' for no reason or purpose.

Together, the three friends must find a way to stop their teacher before she eats all of the brains in the class.

Written at a fourth-grade reading level, this story is appropriate for all ages.

My Review:

This short story had me laughing so hard that I was in tears. It was very original and well written. I couldn’t help but be sucked in to the story. Shin writes in a very upbeat manner that draws readers of all ages in. Although the subject manner may seem fluffy on the surface, there’s much more to this novel than meets the eye. You will find yourself wondering ‘what if’ while enjoying this brief escape from reality.

The overall character development was minimal, but it didn’t detract too much from the overall story. The author provides all necessary information without wasting valuable time and space on irrelevant details. The focus is on the details of the story itself.

This novel was a very interesting look at the lives of 3 very different grade 4 students. It was a very captivating and extremely funny story.
