10 Things You Didn’t Know About Rowan: Blood Crave Series
1. The name Rowan was inspired by Rowan Atkinson of Mr. Bean. (Always thought the name would be cool for a girl. Plus the show was just awesome).
2. This book was supposed to be a standalone but while writing Dahlia, had an idea to link the two stories and voila, the start of a series.
3. I started Rowan before Fallen Tears, Rowan’s side story. While in the middle of writing Rowan, I thought it would be a great idea to have a story on how she met Kaji, Adam, and Remy. Plus you get to see her as a human girl.
4. Rowan wasn’t supposed to end up with the person she ends up with but I had a change of heart.
5. If you’ve read Dahlia, there’s a huge surprise during the beginning of this book (or at least, I hope it’s a huge surprise!)
6. Adam was accidentally given this name. He was an unnamed character so I arbitrarily called him “Adam” until I came up with one I wanted. The name stuck however and I couldn’t think of him as anything but Adam.
7. The character, Kaji, has a Japanese influence. It’s from a minor anime obsession one summer long ago.
8. The series wasn’t set out to include fallen angels but wanting to be slightly different than the typical vampire story, characters like Remy were created. He initially wasn’t even a part of the story.
9. If I had to give my characters “couple” names, it would be Romy (Rowan and Remy) and Roji (Rowan and Kaji).
10. Although urban fantasy, this book has a romantic undertone to it. Every girl wants to fall in love, no matter if human or otherwise, and Rowan is no different despite her past heartbreak.
