In Take Me, Cowboy Anna and Chase have ample reason to stay away from love. Both of them have experienced a lot of pain in their lives, and there's a reason they've confined their relationship with each other to friendship. They care for each other, but both of them are reluctant to depend on each other too much because of their past baggage.
I think the real lesson in this book is that love is brave. Loving is brave. Allowing yourself to be loved is brave. Too often in society love is looked down on his week. Or, we are told that something that should be easy, something that should make us happy. I don't think that's always the case. Anything worth having is weighted with cost. That's what makes something valuable. Love doesn't always feel easy, it doesn't always come simply. You have to make yourself honorable, be honest with yourself and with your partner, and work to maintain it.
It takes bravery to open yourself up to love, but it's only when Anna and Chase are able to be brave, set down their baggage and move forward, that they're able to truly live a full life with each other, and not just the half-life they had previously confined themselves to.

My Review:
The relationship between the two main characters was both sweet and comical. It bordered on ridiculous at times as they treaded the waters between a lifelong friendship and their newfound escapades, yet at the same time it was always realistic. Anna’s complete and utter vulnerability combined with her rock hard personality is a compelling mix. I love how she is almost the opposite of the female stereotype on the outside, but on the inside is another story. Countered by Chase’s sizzling hot attitude and complete lack of self-restraint, these two come together in surprising ways. And their lifelong friendship just adds to it all.
Once again Yates has created a quick, fun read that really packs a punch. It’s a fantastic read as a standalone and a great addition to Copper Ridge.
